Plasmera reaches the semi-final of GCIP Türkiye 2025

As an entrepreneurship exploration alongside the research, project coordinator Kubra Ulucan-Altuntas applied to the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) Türkiye 2025 with Plasmera, a venture built around Memb-CAP's plasma-based approach to removing PFAS and other "forever chemicals" from water — and advanced to the semi-final stage over a three-day pitch event.

GCIP Türkiye is a national accelerator programme, part of the UNIDO-backed Global Cleantech Innovation Programme, supporting early-stage ventures in clean technology. The cohort's first entrepreneurship training took place on 7 May 2025, covering business-model development, market sizing and investor pitching. Teams then progressed toward the semi-final pitch, held over three days, 4–6 August 2025, where Plasmera presented on stage.

Plasmera translates the cold-plasma degradation work at the core of Memb-CAP into a standalone treatment concept for PFAS, pharmaceuticals and pesticides — the "forever chemicals" that resist conventional biological and physical water treatment. Reaching the semi-final stage marks an early step in exploring a path from the research lab toward practical deployment.
